Well, for those who I share the generation with, it's probably Eddie Murphy's Coming to America flick where he plays a King who is on a mission of finding his future Queen and decides to head to Queens, NY... Just because.
"But where in New York can one find a woman with grace, elegance, taste and culture? A woman suitable for a king?"
"Queens!"
I was doing some window shopping at Queens Mall one fine winter afternoon, browsing through the pretty merchandise. Now, it is a known fact that golden-brown skinned Filipinas always captivate the attention of Westerners because we're a rare breed in their winter wonderland. I've acknowledged this fact and am flattered by it but at the same time, I get scared walking on my own because sometimes, men tend to act a little funnier than usual when approaching me. Believe me, I've had many awkward proposals.
Such was the case that fine winter afternoon at Queens Mall.
And so, I was walking along the mall aisle when suddenly a big shadow enveloped me. Yes, the same kind of shadow you experience when a sunny day suddenly turns gloomy. When I looked up, I was abdominal level with an African-American man, who's probably around 6'3" in height. I wasn't able to see his face because my neck was not able to arch high enough. Well, either that or because because he was standing too close for comfort.
Before I could even murmur a word, from the bottom of his diaphragm, in the lowest most seductive voice ever, he said these words:
"Sooooooo beautiful...... Sooooooooo seeeeexxxxxyyyyy!"
That's with matching black guy hip-hop hand gestures.
Visual Aid: Please watch 0:02 - 0:03 of this clip, elongate the delivery of "beautiful" and emphasize on "seeeexxxxyyyy" add an ounce of excitement while facial expression remains the same to that of the guy in the video.
Yes, although I wasn't able to really see him, I imagine him to look similar to the guy in the video, Latrell Spencer from White Chicks.
Yes, he is indeed a beautiful chocolate man.
