An encounter with a clairvoyant

Today, I met a clairvoyant and she told me my life story with just a blink of an eye. From her bird's-eye view, she could see how perfect my life is: overflowing with love, a flourishing career, money that's just enough. The kind of balance that any person can ever wish for. Except me.

Perfect. That's how it appears from afar but when she looked deeper into my eye, she knew that it's hardly the case if viewed from the inside-out.

Discontent. The longing for something more. It is the absence satisfaction, the restless desire for something more that what you have. My personal insatiability was brought about by the renewed freedom that I've recently acquired. Freedom -no matter how joyous or painful- has its way of opening your eyes to a universe of possibilities.

They say that contentment helps you settle, but discontent allows you to fully live. And I'd rather live my life knowing that I've exhausted all means to actualize my dreams. On this 24th day of April, 2011 the summer of my discontent was fully awakened.
